As I often do, I’ll begin that discussion with the game’s plot. I think it’s high time I began discussing my thoughts on Sniper Elite V2. That’s quite enough evaluation of advice from a Team Fortress 2 character. Most of the time, however, I miss a crucial long-distance shot and suddenly find myself being gunned down instead. Some of the time, I manage to gun down enough enemies to clear a path to my objective or escape route. If that fails, I often just resign myself to my fate, which usually consists of either fighting my way out of my current location or dying in the process. Since I’m a rather terrible shot in games that revolve around sniping, my main plan is basically, “introduce bullet to head from such a distance that the bullet can’t be traced back to my location.” I also don’t typically come up with plans to kill everyone I meet. Instead, I just count myself fortunate that I have much more sniper rifle ammunition than I need to accomplish my objectives. In my opinion, the enemies I find myself assassinating in Sniper Elite V2 deserve no politeness.Īs far as the other two standards are concerned, I frequently find myself without the skill necessary to achieve efficiency. The aforementioned “professional’s standards” are as follows: “be polite, be efficient, and have a plan to kill everyone you meet.” Of course, I adhere to precisely none of those standards. More specifically, I’ve found that the “professional’s standards” according to Team Fortress 2’s sniper don’t really apply to my experiences with Sniper Elite V2 and, I’m sure, every other game in the Sniper Elite series. As far as I’m concerned, quotes from that particular video either apply perfectly to everything that has happened during my time with the game thus far or don’t apply at all. Front and Center (10 points): Get a scoped headshot over 150m.Over the course of my time with Rebellion’s Sniper Elite V2, I’ve found myself quoting Valve’s 2009 Team Fortress 2 video “Meet the Sniper” almost incessantly. Mousetrap Fuse (10 points): Use a trip mine to kill an enemy who is trying to assault your position. Ear Plugs (10 points): Snipe an enemy while your rifle fire is masked by a loud sound. Fuel Tank (10 points): Destroy a tank by sniping the fuel supply. Silent but deadly (10 points): Covertly kill 25 unaware enemies. Deadeye (10 points): Snipe an enemy through his eye. Go the Distance (20 points): Get a cumulative sniped kill distance of a marathon. Iron Lung (20 points): Hold your breath for a cumulative time of half an hour. Potato Masher (20 points): Kill 100 enemies with explosives. World Record (30 points): Get 506 cumulative sniper kills.
Gung Ho (20 points): Snipe 100 moving targets. Head Honcho (20 points): Get 100 sniped headshots. Jungle Juice (50 points): Find and snipe all the hidden bottles throughout the game. Gold Rush (50 points): Find and retrieve all the stolen gold bars.
Pass the Buck (30 points): Get a sniped ricochet headshot. Double Dose (20 points): Snipe 2 people with one shot. Cooking Off (20 points): Snipe a grenade on an enemy's webbing from 100m. Make Every Bullet Count (25 points): Complete a level with 100% accuracy, using only rifles. Hide and Hope (50 points): Complete a level without being shot a single time. Trainee Sniper (20 points): Escape the German assault. Novice Sniper (20 points): Stop the convoy. Apprentice Sniper (20 points): Destroy the V2 Facility and escape to safety.
Journeyman Sniper (20 points): Hold off the Russian advance. Skilled Sniper (20 points): Stop the execution.
